  1. I recently spent a week at the Jim Thomson Piping College in Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff I believe is around 7500 feet above sea level. Right out of the case my pipes behaved so different from normal playing at 2500 feet but after playing them for 20-30 minutes they settled down and were able to be properly tuned and worked. It did take a toll on my blowing and breathing which made my first try at playing much harder than it should be. Wish I had read this before.
