In this class we look at gracenote execution from the standpoint of understanding exactly what our fingers are doing as we play them. We use simple exercises to help us perfect the size and cleanliness of the gracenotes, and pair that with a demonstration in super slow motion of how some of the note transitions should look and in what order the fingers should move.

In this lesson, you’ll learn your first bagpipe tunes! The following tunes are very commonly heard among bagpipers, and can be played using only G Gracenotes. In later chapters, you will learn to add in other gracenotes and embellishments to fill out each of these tunes. If you aren’t familiar with these melodies, it is very important that you listen through the examples on each of the Videos to familiarize yourself with the tunes. Not doing so will make it very hard to know what you are shooting for.
