This is a four step "Low G Oriented" embellishment found commonly in light music tunes. The "Light" D Throw is more commonly used in Piobaireachd.

The Steps

Explanation

  • This is a Low G Oriented embellishment, that should produce a low, "crisp" sound when executed properly.
  • There are two commonly accpeted ways to play the D Throw. The other method is the "Light" D Throw.
  • The movement should produce four even "sounds" or "syllables."
  • If coming from the note Low G, simply omit step 1 of the throw.
