Taorluath

A three-step embellishment. Steps: (1) Play Low G, (2) D Gracenote on Low G, (3) E Gracenote to Low A (or occasionally B/C).

This is a three step "Low G Oriented" embellishment found commonly in light music tunes, and in Piobaireachd.

The Steps

* Not all Taorluaths end on Low A, but most do. Technically speaking, a Taorluath could end on Low G, Low A, B, or C (any note below D).

Explanation

  • This is a Low G Oriented embellishment, that should produce a low, "crisp" sound when executed properly.
  • The movement should produce three even "sounds" or "syllables."
