Description: This week we tackle the Romantic era, which corresponded with the beginnings of modernism in the visual art world. After Beethoven, artists and composers began infusing their compositions with a new sense of personal style and narrative. We will look at many of these composers, including Brahms, Mendellsohn, Liszt & Wagner.

Matt Griffin (MFA) Matt is a musician and composer from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada now living and working in Toronto. He got his BFA from Simon Fraser University's School for the Contemporary Arts and his MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to his work with Electricity is Magic, he is the Audio Curator for Chicago's LiveBox Gallery. Matt is our go-to "big picture" guy, for helping us understand where bagpipe fit into the greater world of sound and of music.
