In this class we take a look at what it takes to be a good composer. We first examine existing work and see what dynamics we can use to make a good tune. What chord structures can be used to invoke emotion in the listener? We also discuss two bar phrasing, high hand & low hand dominant phrasing, and idiom choice.

In this session we take a look at how we learn and it's relation to what will motivate us as we tackle the bagpipe. We go through the three ways in which we learn and how to make associations between the audial and visual worlds. We also examine "muscle memory" and how that relates to the education process. A must for all teachers and students alike!
