In this class we go over MacKay's Farewell to the 74th, a nice two-parted MAP tune. We discuss approaching the tune in manageable pieces so that we can master all of the fundamentals as we learn it, rather than biting off more than we can chew and having to work good fundamentals in later.
In this class, we look at a classic MAP tune from the RSPBA, and use it as a springboard to develop great "contrast" between long and short notes. Then, we build it up to a good speed. A must-watch for budding young strathspey players!
In this class, we take several of the RSPBA MAP tunes and talk about how to keep these classic tunes going as you work on the "more important" stuff. We'll look at several examples and create exercises to isolate key fundamentals. A must-see!
