Let's explore our repertoire going back and forth from simple to complex today. It's actually something that's great to do... every day!
ALAP/ASAP - Maximizing Contrast in Dot-Cuts
“ALAP/ASAP” refers to the idea that dot-cut rhythms in bagpipe music should not be played exactly as written on the page, but instead should show maximum contrast in duration. To achieve this maximum contrast, the dotted note should be played “as long as possible” (ALAP), and the cut note should be played “as short as (musically) possible” (ASAP).
Upload Your Daily Dose Documentation to Facebook
The purpose of the daily doses on Dojo U is for you to work on your playing, just a little bit every single day. It's tough to work on your playing without feedback, which is where our special Daily Dose Facebook Group comes in. Here, you can submit today's dose, and get feedback from our world-renown staff as well as your peers.
Submit 20 daily-dose-documentations to the Daily Dose Facebook Group (click here to access) in a calendar month, and be entered for our prize drawing! Click here for full contest rules and the fine print.
