In this session we go over some key fundamentals when striving for better pipe corps unison. First we discuss the difference between reactive and anticipatory playing. The basis for all the we do is based on a steady beat. Then a common understanding of rhythm and where to ground the technique are essential. The best bands have everyone on the same page, playing well together. A must for all pipebanders!

Marc Dubois Marc is an experienced pipe band leader and bagpipe judge from the Northeast USA. He spent many years with the Oran Mor Pipe Band as a piper and as a bass drummer, and thus has a extensive background on the topic of pipe band ensemble. He's currently the Pipe Major of the Schenectady Pipe Band.
